In this Asics weightlifting shoes review we’ll demonstrate that, while different, the two shoes are also strikingly similar in the sense that the Asics weightlifting shoes are both among the top weightlifting shoes available today.

Asics Lift Trainer is the cross training shoe that somehow made the leap into the world of top Olympic weightlifting footwear without breaking a sweat. It’s lightweight construction, classic Oly footwear characteristics and surprising performance make it a weightlifting shoe to be reckoned with. It may not win a slew of styling awards but it’s a genuine alternative to the elite shoes.

The Lift Trainer is a well-designed platform for serious lifting that features:

The high-quality construction also promises longevity and while I have not owned my pair of Adidas Adipower weightlifting shoes long enough to know for sure yet, I would be very surprised if they don’t turn out to be one of the most durable pairs that I have owned.

The Lift Trainer is a remarkably comfortable weightlifting shoe featuring:

The Lift Trainer provides aggressive weightlifting support in the form of:

All around a very functional shoe!

Asics 7

The Asics 727 is an incongruous presence in the 21st century. One that will likely cause you to conclude that, while space-age materials and high tech manufacturing processes are great, maybe something has been lost in the rush to abandon nature leger materials and handcrafted quality.

The Asics 727 remain the exact same Asics lifting shoes today that they were in the 80s because the powers that be at Asics recognize d they had crafted a winner and never felt the need to tweak it to reflect changing tastes. Kudos to them.

The 727 is the Bugatti Veyron of the weightlifting shoe world as far as the quality of construction goes and features:

Putting on a pair of these Asics weightlifting shoes generates the sensation of slipping into finely crafted dress shoes. Those Asics weightlifting shoes don’t fall back on layers of foam to achieve comfort because they don ’t have to. Instead, they offer:

Outstanding performance is the reason the 727 has never been slated for a redesign. These shoes provide:

All around a very functional shoe!

Though the basic look of the Asics weightlifting shoes have not changed since the days of the rotary phone there are several ways you can customize your 727s(should you be lucky enough to get your hands on a pair)

The 727 is only produced in limited runs 4 times a year, which means picking up a pair can be a bit of a challenge. But if you have a chance to get your hands on these Asics weightlifting shoes, do it. Keep in mind, however, that customization can cause the price of the 727 to skyrocket from its already formidable $250 base to as much as $500. In spite of that, there are many who believe the Asics weightlifting shoes worth every penny.

Asics weightlifting shoes quietly occupy a lofty position in the world of Oly footwear along with other weightlifting shoe brands like Risto Sports or Inov8 (read our reviews for Risto Sports weightlifting shoes and Inov8 weightlifting shoes). Both the Lift Trainer and the 727 demonstrate all the characteristic performance attributes of other elite shoes to go along with superior build quality and comfort. The Lift Trainer Asics weightlifting shoes also happen to be one of the best values in weightlifting footwear you will find anywhere.

Asics Lift Trainer

My name is Jim Roose.
