The Otomix brand is the brainchild of martial arts master Mitchell Bobrow. Otomix lifting shoes are characterized by their comfort and high-top design, and while they may not be as well known as other brands, there is a dedicated core of Otomix customers who swear by them. In these Otomix weightlifting shoes reviews we’ll take a look at Otomix shoes and see if we can determine what it is about them that generates such loyalty.

Otomix produces four different styles of weightlifting shoes, though only one is purpose built for lifting. And just so you know; no Otomix weightlifting shoes feature the metatarsal strap that most other shoe companies consider an essential part of weightlifting shoe design. Whether that’s good or bad you will have to decide but it is worth noting. On to the shoes.

The Power Trainer is advertised as being appropriate for multiple extreme sports including weightlifting and the design reflects this. These Otomix powerlifting shoes have a generously padded upper and an aggressively flat sole. That flat sole will appeal to powerlifters while the shoe’s extra arch support can make it a smart choice for those with fallen arches or flat feet.

Other key features include:

The only weightlifting shoes Otomix produce specifically for that purpose, the Ultimate Trainer has a contemporary profile and may just be the best looking shoe Otomix makes. Featuring what the company calls its High Performance Bodybuilding (HPB) system the shoe delivers a snug fit throughout for comfort and the extra lateral support serious lifters require.

Main features include:

The Versa Training Pro features a sleek 21st century design that verges on minimalism. The shoe is extremely comfortable as well as being attractive and its look is enhanced by an interior lacing system. Like most other Otomix lifting shoes the Versa male and female models are virtually identical and come in black and grey or white and black.

Other features include:

The Extreme Pro Trainer looks like a cross between the Power Trainer and Ultimate Trainer. True to that middle ground ethos, while they may be the best Otomix powerlifting shoes they may not be so perfect for other types of Oly lifting. Like the company’s other shoes this one fits great and feels just as good. It’s also durable which makes it a popular choice for value conscious CrossFitters looking for extra ankle support. Other features include:

Among the things you may want to consider before purchasing any of the Otomix weightlifting shoes is the lack of a metatarsal strap as mentioned earlier. While their shoes tend to lace up tightly and are really very comfortable, that extra bit of lateral support the strap provides may be missed by some. The high-top nature of their entire line of shoes is also unusual in the weightlifting world (Chuck Taylors aside), though again, some will find the extra ankle support a welcome feature.

Watch an interesting video where a young man compares his high top Chuck Taylors to his high-top Otomix weight training. And one more note: for what it’s worth the company’s website puts the price of these four models as being an identical. Ottomix are also a fantastic weightlifting shoe for women. But these are not simply throw back shoes. They’re serious workout kit that are sure to please MMA, CrossFit and dedicated heavy lifters as well. They’re comfortable as hell, affordable and well built and you probably don’t have to look much beyond those facts to figure out why so many people swear by their Otomix powerlifting shoes.

If you would like to learn more about best high top weightlifting shoes and other different types of weightlifting shoes currently on the market, I highly suggest you check out this article.
