The Exerpeutic TF1000 treadmill is a great choice for those that primarily use treadmills for walking rather than running.

This design boasts a nice and wide frame that has an impressive weight capacity, and long handlebars to ensure that you always keep your balance. The most handsome feature of this treadmill, however, is the super affordable price point.

Key Features

PERFORMANCE

I’ll get straight to the point: the motor on this treadmill is a little weak. With a 1.5 horsepower motor, this treadmill is able to achieve top speeds of around 4 miles per hour. So, it’s important to note right out of the gate that this design is built more for walking rather than running.

Another great product we reviewed is the Exerpeutic Recumbent Bike – 900XL, so make sure to check it out as well.

It’s also important to note that while the motor is a little on the weak side, it also means that it runs incredibly quietly. Users were able to watch television or hold a reasonable conversation without the need to yell over a very loud motor!

It boasts a wide (albeit short) deck that allows you to walk naturally without clipping the side of the belt, and it boasts a pretty impressive max weight capacity that is perfect for most users that need to get active.

Overall, I would recommend this treadmill for those that need a good recovery machine, or a treadmill that can help expedite healing from a gym-related injury. When weight training, I’ve tweaked my back quite a few times, and walking is one of the best ways to stay active while working through a mild injury.

While many treadmills out there on the market are geared for running and burning calories, the Exerpeutic TF1000 treadmill boasts unique features not found on other treadmills that help keep you active and safe.

SIZE

If you don’t have a lot of space to work with in your home gym, this treadmill is just a little bit smaller than most. Once assembled, it measures to be 51.2-inches long, 32-inches wide and stands 63-inches tall.

When compared to some of the high-end treadmills out there on the market, this design is surprisingly small and compact (with sacrificing belt size or weight capacity).

To put the side into perfective, a Peloton treadmill measures to be 72.5-inches long, 32.5-inches wide, and 72-inches long.

What I also love about the size of this machine is that it is able to be folded compactly to clear up a little floor space as needed. While other treadmills often claim to be foldable, the decks typically only fold up to a 45-degree angle which is slightly helpful, but not great.

This deck, on the other hand, folds all the way up to a 90-degree angle that makes it super compact, and a pair of transport wheels makes it a cinch to move from room to room as needed.

One of the most impressive features of this treadmill is its incredibly impressive weight capacity. Even the most expensive treadmills out there on the market host a max weight capacity that tops out at around 300 pounds.

Users over 300 pounds often have a difficult time finding home cardio machines that are able to accommodate their weight. This treadmill hosts an incredibly impressive weight capacity of 400 pounds, and the frame is built like a tank!

DISPLAY SCREEN

The display screen on this design is about what you would expect from a budget-friendly treadmill. It provides users with a small LCD screen that tracks metrics such as your heart rate, speed, calories burned, distance, and time in use.

You can easily adjust the speed with the buttons on the front of the console, and it also provides users with an emergency stop clip that will turn off the motor if they happen to lose their balance.

The downside to this very simple display screen is that it doesn’t provide users with any extra bells and whistles to help keep their workouts engaging. It doesn’t include any pre-programmed workout programs, and it has no Bluetooth connectivity to pair it with your favorite workout apps.

While it provides users with a very shallow water bottle holder, it doesn’t offer extra storage features for gear, or a media shelf to mount your smartphone or tablet.

The central console gets the job done, but it is missing many helpful features that even some of the budget-friendly treadmills offer. The lack of advanced features is a bit of a disappointment, but not exactly a deal-breaker.

If you have any type of fitness tracker such as a FitBit, these little devices provide the same activity progress and features as many built-in features.

HANDRAILS

One of the things that makes this treadmill stand out from the pack is the design of the handrails. While other treadmills offer short little handrails that don’t serve much of a purpose, the longer-than-average handrails on this design are made to ensure that you always keep your balance.

If you are just getting started with a weight loss fitness program or recovering from an injury, maintaining your balance is insanely important. The handrails on this design are made from strong metal that won’t bend or break under a little bit of tension and are wide enough to accommodate most users.

What I also love about the construction of these handrails is that they also have control buttons so that users can make adjustments to the speed of the belt without leaning over to tinker with the central console.

In addition to adjusting the speed via the handrails, they are also built with a heart rate monitor that displays your active heart rate on the screen. It’s not the most accurate heart rate monitor in the world, but it will give you a ballpark idea of whether or not you are in the zone.

DECK

There are some really good things about the size of this deck, and some things that are less than ideal. First- the good. What I found surprising about this budget-friendly treadmill is that it boasts a relatively wide deck. When shopping around for affordable treadmills, many boasts decks that measure to be just 16 inches wide.

This narrow deck size often requires walkers or runners to slightly adjust their stride to avoid clipping the sides of the belt. The Exerpeutic TF1000 treadmill, on the other hand, provides users with a 20-inch deck that allows plenty of room to hit their natural stride.

The downside to this deck is that it’s a little short. Standard treadmills have a deck that typically measures to be between 45-60 inches. Treadmills at the gym almost always have decks that are at least 60 inches long, while at home models measure to be around the 45-50-inch mark.

This treadmill has a deck that measures to be just 40-inches long, which may be a little too short for some. If you have a long stride, you may find that you need to take smaller steps when using this treadmill.

PRICE

If you are on the hunt for an affordable treadmill, you have come to the right place! While this design certainly has a few issues that could potentially be deal-breakers, you may be more willing to give this treadmill a pass when considering the super affordable price tag.

While it may not be the most affordable design out there on the market, its strong and sturdy frame and impressive weight capacity make it a treadmill that is worth a look!

Verdict

It’s important to note that the Exerpeutic TF1000 treadmill isn’t your typical treadmill. While many designs out there on the market build machines to be hybrid running/walking options, this treadmill is geared more towards the walking community.

With a high weight capacity of 400 pounds, long and sturdy handrails, and a very modest 1.5 horsepower motor, this treadmill isn’t pretending to be anything but a solid and sturdy walking machine.

Running may burn more calories than running, but sometimes the disadvantages can outweigh the advantages. Running can be murder on your joints, and if you engage in a dedicated weight training machine, adding running to your weekly workouts may anger your hard-working joints.

Plus, if you are overweight, running may potentially do more damage to your body than good. The simple act of walking can help heal an injury, improve circulation, and is just a great way to stay active while keeping your joints nice and happy.

If you are on the lookout for a treadmill that is geared solely for walking rather than running that is small, compact, and super affordable, the Exerpeutic TF1000 treadmill is a great choice!
